Increasing civic participation, voter awareness and voter turnout

Keynote Speaker: Chi Nguyen is the Director of Participation Process at MASS LBP, an organization that works with visionary governments and corporations to deepen and improve their efforts to engage and consult with citizens to support complex decisions and policy choices. She leads the development and design of curriculum for MASS's Citizens' Panel processes.

Before joining MASS LBP in its early days, she worked with the Citizenship Foundation (UK), the National Association of Women and the Law, the Toronto Women's City Alliance and as political staff to Dr. Carolyn Bennett, MP, St. Paul's. Chi is the co-Chair of the Canadian Women's Health Network, and serves on St. Stephen’s Community House and Jane’s Walks Advisory boards and was an inaugural Diverse City Fellow.

She was actively involved in developing the McGill Women in House program, Young Women Vote: the 20,000 Project, and The Little Black Book: A Guide to Sexual Health for Grrrls by Grrrls (Annick Press, 2006, 2nd ed.). In 2003-4, during her year as a Parliamentary Intern to Libby Davies and Sheila Copps, Chi ran a national campaign to encourage young women to vote in the federal election.
